Job description

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Change Manager to join our team in the Queensland mining sector. The Change Manager will play a critical role in driving transformational change within the organization, particularly focusing on the Fatality Elimination Project related to light vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in technical writing, workface consultation, and facilitating communication strategies with a pre-existing communications specialist.
Responsibilities:

  • Change Management Leadership: Lead change management initiatives, providing guidance and direction to ensure successful implementation of the Fatality Reduction Project.
  • Technical Writing: Develop and maintain documentation related to change management processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Workface Consultation: Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Communication Strategy: Work closely with the communications specialist to develop and execute communication plans tailored to various stakeholders, ensuring transparency and engagement throughout the change process.
  • Project Support: Provide support to project teams during the Definition phase, identifying change impacts, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Training and Development: Develop training materials and deliver training sessions to build change management capabilities within the organization.
  • Measurement and Evaluation: Establish metrics and mechanisms to monitor the effectiveness of change initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to drive desired outcomes.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices in change management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Change Manager, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated expertise in workface consultation, engaging with diverse stakeholders to drive consensus and buy-in.
  • Experience working on safety-related projects, particularly in fatality reduction initiatives or similar safety enhancement programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Certification in change management (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR) is desirable but not essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
