Job description

Large NSW Government agency looking for a Communications manager to lead communications for internal stakeholders and community engagement.

The Communications Manager, Communications and Engagement leads communication and stakeholder engagement services and initiatives for a designated region or portfolio within the agency. It is a pivotal role responsible for driving improved stakeholder outcomes and delivering sound advice, consistent with the agency's strategic priorities, to enhance relationships and reputation. The role works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent, strategic approach to communication, stakeholder, media and issues management is undertaken across the region/portfolio. The role provides guidance to the region/portfolio's communication and engagement team to encourage collaboration, best practice and focus on achieving customer, stakeholder and agency outcomes.

Essential Requirements

Appropriate qualifications and senior level experience in communication, government relations, community and stakeholder relations, journalism or similar.

IAP2 qualifications highly regarded, and current valid driver license is a pre-requisite. Key Knowledge and Experience Extensive ability to develop, deliver and evaluate communication programs and strategies for high profile, contentious and sensitive projects and issues.

Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain strategic stakeholder relationships both internal and external to the organisation.

Strong leadership and organisation skills including a high degree of initiative and flexibility, and the ability to manage resources to meet competing priorities.
