Job description
As the GIS Administrator on a contract basis, you will play a critical role in the management and administration of our clients GIS infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimising GIS databases, software, and systems, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while working with cutting-edge GIS technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain GIS databases, software and licences.
- Install, integrate, configure, and manage GIS software and applications.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with GIS analysts and users to provide technical support and training.
- Develop and implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Manage user access and security permissions for GIS systems and databases.
- Document GIS configurations, procedures, and workflows.
Expereince:
- Proven experience as a GIS Administrator or similar role.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS or QGIS.
- Knowledge of GIS database management and administration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, SQL) is a plus.
- GIS certifications (e.g., Esri Technical Certification) are a bonus.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
