Job description

About the role

OpenText Java is a highly specialised role responsible for involving leveraging Java programming skills to contribute to the development, customization, and integration of solutions within the OpenText software suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and customize OpenText CMS solutions using Java, J2EE, and JavaScript.
  • Implement and integrate OpenText DAM (Media Manager) and OpenText Directory Services functionalities.
  • Utilize frameworks such as Jersey 2.X or REST Easy to develop REST APIs for seamless integration.
  • Leverage Hibernate 4.X for object-relational mapping (ORM) to ensure efficient data management.
  • Work with SQL Server and Azure SQL databases to store and retrieve data effectively.
  • Deploy and manage applications on Windows Server 2016+ environments.
  • Develop automation scripts using Windows PowerShell and Bash scripting for efficient system management.
  • Utilize Azure cloud services including Azure Function App, Azure Logic App, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Storages for scalable and reliable cloud-based solutions.
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps for efficient development and deployment processes.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Java Developer with a strong understanding of Java, J2EE, and JavaScript.
  • Experience working with OpenText CMS solutions, specifically OpenText DAM (Media Manager) and OpenText Directory Services, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in frameworks such as Jersey 2.X or REST Easy for developing REST APIs.
  • Solid understanding of Hibernate 4.X for ORM and database interaction.
  • Experience working with SQL Server and Azure SQL databases.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services including Azure Function App, Azure Logic App, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Storages.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Git and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
