Job description

The purpose of the Program Manager role is to serve as a strategic partner and single point of contact to the IT Leader Enterprise Services for the overall program and IT delivery components. The Program Manager is responsible for the success of the program through overall responsibility for delivery of the technology aspects of the program along with governance, planning and coordinating activities and communications across workstreams, risk mitigation, identifying interdependencies and managing scope change.

Generic Responsibilities

  • End-to-end responsibility for IT delivery components of the Workday program to agreed scope, schedule, cost and quality and benefit
  • Oversees the development of all IT program deliverables to an acceptable level of quality; steer the document review and endorsement
  • Oversees the technical delivery of solution architecture, development, testing, integration and Service Design and Transition (either through Aurecon resources and/or external suppliers).
  • Manages key program risks, issues, dependencies and change control; escalates following agreed governance channels and authority
  • Helps obtain and maintain the commitment of executive management, business representatives and stakeholders for the program (full lifecycle).
  • Manages program-level financials and budget

  • Regularly assess and report program status, e.g. cost, schedule, quality, risks and issues to the Business Project Director and governance
  • Manage program risks and review status regularly and recommend corrective actions (for risks, issues, deviations).
  • Review program/ project management plans to ensure the program/ project objectives can be met by following the
  • Perform Project Completion Report for the overall program with the Project Owner from the business
  • Work with Business / Functional leaders to define benefits and ensure measurable outcomes are validated and endorsed by senior business stakeholders

Experience, qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of related IT and Operations program and project management experience with increasing level of
  • Proven ability to interface with and perform with C level
  • Experience with Workday (People, Finance and Project Modules are an advantage but not essential)
  • Experience managing multiple projects
  • Experience in agile and hybrid delivery
  • Demonstrated high performance orientation, detail orientation and sound
  • Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with project sponsors, team resources and stakeholders
  • Strong financial and analytical ability with eexcellent oral and written communication
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience leveraging project and portfolio management tools such as MS Project Online.
