Our Federal Government Client is looking for a Radio Communications Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. This is a 12 months contracting role, Open to ACT. Open to Australian Citizens with a Security clearance.
Radio Communications Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible in supporting the acquisition, development, deployment, installation, and maintenance of systems for mobile radio and fixed-site communications equipment. This role involves providing operational support and technical advice to ensure the effective functioning of mission-critical radio networks.
To be successful in fulfilling the roles requirements you must have:
- System Support & Technical Advisory: Assist in the acquisition, development, deployment, installation, and maintenance of systems for mobile radio and fixed-site communications equipment. Provide operational support and technical advice throughout these processes.
- Network Maintenance: Maintain and monitor the performance of mission-critical radio networks, investigating and resolving complex system-wide issues to meet operational requirements.
- Technology Management: Manage the national radio system using technologies such as P25 and WAVE. Support the uplift of radio and communications capabilities through enterprise program management activities.
- Telecommunications Planning & Implementation: Support and provide advice on the planning and implementation of telecommunications devices, networks, and systems, including voice, radio, P25 core, two-way, data, microwave, satellite, and digital data systems.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in commercial discussions with State Radio Networks and vendors. Engage with and influence stakeholders to ensure services and solutions meet agreed service levels and quality standards.
- Asset Management: Oversee the issue and return of radios (controlled items) for business-as-usual and special operations. Manage the decommissioning of redundant radio sites.
- Encryption Management: Support and assist in the management of encryption for all radio devices, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Operational Support: Provide support to operational vehicles and electronic items, such as Digital Record of Interview (DROI) systems.
- International Collaboration: Assist in the design and implementation of radio systems in Pacific islands. Mentor and train Pacific island technicians through face-to-face delivery and on-the-job guidance.
- Network Performance Monitoring: Maintain and monitor network performance, investigating and resolving complex and system-wide network issues to meet operational requirements using a wide range of diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Contract & Procurement Management: Undertake contract management and procurement activities with State Radio Networks and vendors, overseeing and measuring the fulfillment of contractual obligations.
- Team Management: Support day-to-day management, resource planning, and work allocation within the team to meet agreed service levels.
- Technology Intelligence: Monitor the external environment to gather intelligence on emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact, threats, and opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the uplift of radio and communications capabilities through enterprise program management activities, identifying and exploiting new technologies, and improving existing technologies to ensure they are fit for purpose and use within the operational context.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a small team environment, providing knowledge and skills transfer to other teams.
- Documentation & Compliance: Record and maintain files/information in accordance with organisational requirements.
