Job description

Principal Engineer - Endpoint Security

  • Timely 12 month Principal Engineer - Endpoint role with a vital NSW Government Dept
  • Vital NSW Government Department
  • 12month contract, lengthy and can be extended.
  • Parramatta location and WFH. for 2 to 3 days per week.

About the Department

This is a vital an agency within a large NSW Government Department that is responsible for the delivery of digital solutions for clinical solutions and business services, supported by smart infrastructure, providing a digitally enabled and integrated systems that delivers quality customer-centred experiences to the people of NSW.

Aim of the role:

The purpose of the Principal Engineer - Endpoint Security role is to demonstrate senior operational security management capability aligned with endpoint management, app and desktop delivery platforms and products. The right person will operate in the Digital Workspace group representing as the security lead for respective platforms, products and services associated with endpoints and management framework. The role has a focus on operational security aspects of current services and adoption of emerging technology which includes, development, delivery optimisation, process enhancement, governance and compliance.

This role will collaborate and work alongside other eHealth technology teams, project managers, cyber security & advisory team representatives, business stakeholders and the customers to ensure operational security of endpoint centric products across this Departments landscape.

Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with a record of achievement in operational security management.
  • Experience working with the Windows endpoints, endpoint security solutions and key technology platforms of Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop and Citrix technologies.
  • Previous experience with the design and implementation of operational security for endpoints and/or experience with improving cyber security posture across several of the key mitigation strategies (Essential 8 controls) developed by the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC).
  • Operational security services skills, including a consultative/specialist and subject matter expert capacity within a large, complex shared services environment, with relevant qualifications or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated operational security leadership, driving collaboration, developing future capabilities while integrating security with legacy technologies to ensure successful outcomes in service provisioning and support.
  • Contribute to developing cyber security / operational security services and solutions aligned to this Department and customer requirements.
