Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Our client, an award-winning technology consultancy, is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a permanent position.

You will be instrumental in building and maintaining their robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure. You'll leverage your deep understanding of enterprise-grade technologies like Cohesity, NetApp, VMware, and Hyper-V to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and seamless disaster recovery capabilities. Your focus will be on creating resilient systems that meet stringent compliance standards.

Your Key Contributions Will Include:

• Spearheading the design and deployment of high-performance x86 compute platforms, including industry-leading solutions like Cisco UCS and HPE ProLiant servers.
• Crafting and implementing robust vitalisation environments utilising VMware vSphere, vCenter, and Hyper-V.
• Architecting, deploying, and expertly administering enterprise-class NetApp storage systems, including ONTAP, SnapMirror, FlexGroup, and FabricPool.
• Leading the implementation of comprehensive data protection strategies using Cohesity, encompassing disaster recovery and business continuity plans aligned with critical RPO/RTO objectives.
• Successfully executing a range of infrastructure projects, such as data center migrations, seamless hybrid cloud integration, and strategic storage refreshes.
• Ensuring strict adherence to ISO 27001/NIST frameworks, actively supporting vulnerability remediation efforts, managing patching processes, and bolstering overall infrastructure security.
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive operational documentation (HLDs/LLDs) and diligently managing change control procedures.
• Serving as a senior point of escalation for complex infrastructure incidents, providing expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineering team members.
• Effectively liaising with technology vendors for technical support, driving escalations when necessary, and contributing to strategic infrastructure planning.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

• Deep expertise in Storage: NetApp ONTAP, SnapMirror, and protocols such as NFS/iSCSI/CIFS.
• Proven experience with Backup and Data Protection: Cohesity, with familiarity in solutions like Veeam and Azure Backup being advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in Vitalisation: VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, coupled with experience in Hyper-V.
• Solid understanding of Compute Platforms: x86-based server technologies, including Cisco UCS and HPE ProLiant.
• Familiarity with Cloud Integration (Desirable): NetApp Cloud Volumes and integrating Cohesity with Azure/AWS.
• Working knowledge of Operating Systems: Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS).
