About the role:
We're actively seeking a Software Performance Expert whose primary responsibility is to ensure that software applications meet or exceed performance standards. This involves designing and executing performance tests, analysing data to identify performance issues, and working closely with developers and other stakeholders to resolve these issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and pinpoint performance bottlenecks in our codebase.
- Enhance code readability, maintainability, and performance through refactoring.
- Optimize code to decrease CPU usage and enhance processing efficiency.
- Devise strategies to mitigate system latency and uphold responsiveness.
- Execute performance tests to gauge the impact of optimization endeavors.
- Foster collaboration with developers and IT colleagues to enact performance enhancements.
- Remain informed about cutting-edge performance optimization methods and industry best practices.
Desired Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a technical role specializing in performance optimization.
- Proficient understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Demonstrated capability in crafting clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Thorough understanding of performance optimization techniques, such as code profiling, caching, and resource management.
- Hands-on experience with performance testing tools and methodologies.
- Experience in cloud-based performance optimisation is nice to have.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies is nice to have.
- Experience with continuous profilers, eBPF is nice to have.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
