Software Tester (Automation)
We are seeking an experienced Software Tester (Automation) to join an agile multi-disciplinary delivery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting software testing of internet-facing web applications, focusing on automation, test planning, analysis, execution, and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop test cases and supporting data based on specifications.
- Execute tests to analyse behaviour, functionality, and integrity of systems against project requirements.
- Report on progress, defects, risks, and issues, including system quality and test case metrics.
- Understand testing standards and promote quality assurance practices.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to testing standards enhancement.
- Build effective working relationships with team members, share expertise, and mentor less experienced employees.
- Ensure accurate completion of work within timeframes and take the initiative to resolve problems.
- Act as a subject matter expert on technology trends and emerging technologies.
Essential Criteria:
- Ability to effectively engage with business analysts and developers to clarify requirements and describe gaps and issues.
- Prior experience in analysing business requirements, writing detailed test cases, and ensuring comprehensive coverage of user stories.
- Experience in identifying and reporting defects, including tracking within appropriate test management tools.
- Ability to foster positive team relationships through collaboration, teamwork, and communication.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in integration testing across a range of service interfaces, including REST, in an agile scrum context.
- Experience as a test analyst in an agile scrum context.
- Strong administrative and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work and work independently when required.
Security Clearance: Must have Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance.
Full-time role, 5 days per week, up to 40 hours per week.
Canberra-based role, with consideration for interstate candidates.
Negotiable offsite (work from anywhere) arrangements on a case-by-case basis.
