Work as an SQL Database Administrator with a leading consulting firm on one of their government sector projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate as a MS SQL DBA in the establishment of infrastructure managed services for the client.
- Perform on going "business as usual" MS SQL DBA operations and administration tasks, including: monitoring, health checks, database backups, performance management and tuning, database installation and configuration, patching and routine database administration and maintenance tasks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database platforms, processes, and procedures.
- Help align database operations with DevOps and Agile principles.
- Collaborate closely with other DBAs on the team and the broader infrastructure (compute, storage, network, datacentre and public cloud) teams.
Skills and Experience required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operating MS SQL databases as a DBA on prem and in public cloud (Azure)
- Proven experience in operating within IT Service Management and ITIL frameworks. Role requires existing ITIL v4 certification or obtaining one within 8weeks of commencing the job.
