A highly respected tertiary institution is seeking a Systems Administrator to join their growing IT Department. This is a fixed-term opportunity with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the IT needs, ensuring their systems run smoothly and efficiently.
In this role, you will be responsible for a range of technical tasks, including:
- Monitoring, building, testing, patching, and deploying applications and infrastructure
- Providing technical support to staff and students
- Maintaining IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets agreed service levels
- Resolving IT incidents and service requests within set timeframes
- Contributing to the planning and implementation of IT projects
- Staying up-to-date on new and emerging technologies
To be successful, your CV must highlight much of the following:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in technical support roles
- Experience in system installations, IT infrastructure, and incident management
- Server and storage administration (Windows)
- Cloud technology administration (PaaS, IaaS)
- Network support and maintenance (including Wi-Fi)
- IT Security operations (firewall rule creation, Active Directory management)
- PowerShell scripting and knowledge in Linux or Ubuntu is beneficial
