Job description
As an Adabas Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and databases using Adabas. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the performance, security, and reliability of our database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and implement Adabas/Natural applications to meet business requirements.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications and databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues related to Adabas/Natural applications.
- Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and reports to improve performance and efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Document technical specifications, processes, and system configurations.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in Adabas and related technologies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Adabas Developer, with expertise in developing and maintaining Adabas/Natural applications.
- Strong understanding of Adabas architecture, including database structures and access methods.
- Proficiency in Natural programming language and related tools.
- Experience with JCL (Job Control Language) and batch processing.
- Familiarity with relational database concepts and SQL.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other Software AG products, such as EntireX or webMethods.
- Knowledge of mainframe environments and z/OS operating systems.
- Experience with COBOL or other legacy programming languages.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
