Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Darwin, Northern Territory (on-site only - remote not available)

Duration: 12-month contract

About the client:

This delivers complex, high-value ICT programs and multi-year digital transformation initiatives that support core frontline services through inter-agency collaboration. And supports a range of agency business areas through program delivery, relying on specialist service providers.

Role Overview:

The Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-value, complex ICT business systems projects, with a strong focus on solution design, stakeholder engagement, and successful implementation.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors to ensure the solution meets business requirements and delivers measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery across multiple stakeholders and agencies.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, risks, and issues.
  • Oversee governance, reporting, and project control frameworks.
  • Facilitate solution design and integration across business and ICT teams.
  • Coordinate change management activities and communications.
  • Provide leadership in compliance, probity, and stakeholder engagement.

Essential Criteria:

  • 5-10 years of experience in dedicated project management roles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Deep knowledge of project management frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead governance, business planning, and risk resolution.
  • High-level negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), JIRA, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislative or regulatory requirements in complex environments.
  • Proven experience supporting ICT-enabled change within large organisations.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience managing large, high-profile ICT programs.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management frameworks (e.g. ITIL).
  • Technical background in system analysis, design, and integration.
  • Prior experience in government, especially in policing/emergency services.

Remuneration:

Daily Rate (inclusive of GST) - Based on an 8-hour workday. All travel and incidental costs must be included in the rate.
