Job description
We are seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst with a strong background in Cyber Security to assist in delivering a diverse range of Cyber solutions and services. This role is part of the Cyber and Operational Technology section within the Information Services Branch and reports directly to the Portfolio Delivery Manager.
Role Overview: As a Cyber Business Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in the Cyber Program team, engaging in various tasks to support project delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating and attending workshops with internal stakeholders.
- Confirming project scope.
- Analysing project requirements.
- Conducting current state analysis and defining future states.
- Eliciting, analysing, and documenting high-level business and functional requirements, as well as related processes.
- Collaborating closely with the solutions architect to ensure successful solution outcomes.
- Performing data analysis.
Core Deliverables:
Strategy Analysis:
- Conducting current state analysis and defining future states.
- Engaging in process modelling and analysis (As-is and To-Be).
- Performing data modelling and analysis.
- Conducting gap analysis and identifying issues/opportunities.
- Defining and prioritising business outcomes.
- Identifying milestones, work packages, and developing a road-map for change strategy.
Requirements Analysis and Design Definition:
- Documenting business requirements.
- Creating functional requirements specifications/use cases.
- Developing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Capturing stakeholder requirements.
- Defining transition requirements.
Solution Evaluation:
- Providing advisory or participating in vendor/product evaluation as part of the procurement exercise.
Supporting Other Practices:
- Collaborating with Organisational Change Managers, Procurement, Solution Design and Architecture, and Testing Services.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for functional requirements during solution design and testing.
- Advising as a business advocate.
- Conducting business impact analysis.
- Developing user manuals.
Key Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of cyber risks and threats.
- Awareness of the ACSC Essential 8.
- Previous experience in delivering projects related to:
- Identity and Access Management
- Privileged Access Management
- Cyber Control Assurance Reporting
- Data Protection Solutions and Processes
- Network Security Solutions
- Possession of a Cyber Security certification, such as CompTIA Security+, a GIAC certification, or ISC2 CC.
Note: 24 month hourly/daily rate contract, Brisbane CBD (hybrid)
