Communications Officer - Electronic Rostering Program

Join a high-impact digital transformation initiative as a Communications Officer supporting the Electronic Rostering Program. In this role, you will develop and deliver engaging communication materials, coordinate stakeholder engagement events, and support positive change experiences for geographically dispersed stakeholders and end users. You will be part of the Implementation team, reporting to the Change and Communications Manager, and will occasionally travel to various sites to deliver communications and take photographs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality communication materials for diverse audiences and channels (intranet, video, presentations, newsletters, posters, fact sheets).
  • Coordinate and deliver stakeholder engagement events and activities.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create change communication messages and collateral.
  • Prepare and manage issue management communications.
  • Maintain and update the program communication schedule, review and approval processes.
  • Track, analyse, and report on communication effectiveness.
  • Support people through transition and post go-live services.
  • Coach team members in stakeholder engagement and change resistance.
  • Provide timely feedback and advice on risks and barriers to successful change.
  • Maintain communication tracking, Q&A, and reporting registers.
  • Travel to various sites to deliver communication artefacts and merchandise, as well as take photographs.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' hands-on communications experience on fast-paced projects across geographically dispersed locations.
  • High-level design and development skills using intranet sites, Microsoft 365 Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe Pro, Illustrator, and other IT tools.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver quality communication materials for various stakeholder audiences and channels.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement methodologies and building collaborative relationships.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing change resistance and coaching leaders for positive communications.
  • Proven ability to manage communication schedules, tracking registers, and reporting on effectiveness.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Communications experience in government, emergency services, social services, health, or education sectors.
  • Experience working on fast-paced projects.
  • Qualifications in Journalism or Communications.

Requirements

  • National Police Clearance (mandatory)
  • PF166 (mandatory)
  • Willingness to relocate to Darwin for the contract duration (if not already local)
  • Australian citizenship or frull working rights
