Job Title: Linux Engineer
Location: Sydney (Hybrid - minimum 3 days in office)
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract
Clearance Required: Australian Citizenship with Baseline clearance (NV1 preferred)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Linux Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting a secure government environment. You'll play a key role in managing and supporting critical infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role requires hands-on experience in managing both Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments, with additional exposure to VMware and AWS highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
Perform OS patching, system hardening, and ensure compliance with security standards.
Provide advanced technical support for system performance, OS hang, network, and access issues.
Manage user permissions and access controls across Windows and RHEL environments.
Perform operational tasks using VMware and vRA, including VM provisioning, disk management, metadata tagging, and VM migration.
Monitor system performance and recommend improvements where needed.
Participate in incident and problem management, including handling escalated P1 and P2 issues.
Work with SCCM/MECM tools for system management and deployment.
Be available for on-call support and participate in rostered shift work, including extended hours if required.
Eligibility Criteria:
Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
Baseline clearance required; NV1 preferred.
Must be able to commit to hybrid working and after-hours availability.
