Job description
- Collaborate with the project team and a multidisciplinary engineering team on cutting-edge technology for mobile heavy mining and railway equipment.
- Oversee test data management and the data offloading pipeline for all Green Fleet projects.
- Develop standards for data signal naming, ensuring consistent naming and grouping across the entire data pipeline from onboard data loggers to offboard databases.
- Design efficient database architectures to store large datasets effectively.
- Manage big data in various databases (e.g., AWS S3, Snowflake, SQL, InfluxDB), ensuring data accessibility for all users.
- Create standard workflows and documentation for setting up data software and platforms.
- Oversee data logging software and specialized test data loggers.
- Work closely with Fortescue Technology and Automation teams to ensure architecture design aligns with broader business objectives.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in designing and delivering complex data warehousing and data management solutions.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Essential experience with the MQTT protocol (Sparkplug B).
- Proficiency in Python, Java, and the .NET framework is highly advantageous.
- Experience with Confluence, Jira, and GitHub for issue tracking and version control workflow is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC-UA, CAN bus) is highly advantageous.
- Experience with AWS, Azure cloud platforms, and the Snowflake cloud data platform is highly advantageous.
- Experience in developing report dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of network, server, and cybersecurity best practices is highly advantageous.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
