Job description

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced Cloud Environment Manager to join their team. This is a non-ongoing (fixed term) role for 18 months. This role is open for Australian citizens with an active NV1 Security Clearance.

  • Non-ongoing role for 18 months
  • Salary is $109,816 - $121.634 + 15.4% super
  • Paid 4 weeks of annual leave and sick leave
  • NV1 is mandatory for this role
  • Canberra or Sydney based

As a Cloud Environment Manager you will lead the management of the agency's cloud ICT environment. You will be accountable for the development of processes to manage operations, assist in technical standards development.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Lead a small team to manage and monitor the cloud infrastructure environment.
  • Work with and/or leading multidisciplinary project teams to deploy new capability within the agency's cloud environment.
  • Work with the IT Security Advisor to ensure the security of applications and systems within the ICT environment. Manage the procurement, contract management, and day-to-day management of technical contract resources and service providers.
  • Develop and implement processes to monitor system performance, capacity levels and expenditure to ensure that they meet business needs.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of application hosting services, including patching and updating software components.
  • Develop and oversee Service Level Agreement metrics with service providers.
  • Develop and implement processes to measure the effectiveness of cloud services, including usage rates, latency times, and error rates.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Demonstrate an excellent knowledge and practical experience of contemporary Information and Communications Technology operations, particularly within a cloud networking and application environment.
  • You will have extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure environments and be able to lead small technical team to deliver business enhancing and secure solutions within these environments.
  • You will work closely other members of the ICT as well as staff throughout the agency and must have a well-honed sense of risk and ability to prioritise.
  • have experience in managing small teams including contractors and will have experience in end-to-end procurement and contract management, particularly with regard to ICT contractors and management services providers.
