About the Role:
Join a leading ASX listed business in Brisbane as a versatile Engineering Manager to take on a hybrid role combining technical leadership and development. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of engineers while contributing to hands-on development. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence both technical direction and team performance.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Guide the team's technical direction, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members. Balance hands-on development (10-30%) with leadership responsibilities (70-90%), based on project complexity and team needs.
- Project Delivery: Oversee project timelines, allocate resources, and ensure successful delivery of .NET applications using technologies
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term product strategy and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Legacy Modernisation: Maintain and modernise a critical .NET application.
- Requirement Analysis: Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
- Code Development and Testing: Design, develop, and test high-quality, maintainable code.
About You:
- Proven Leadership: A successful track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of .NET technologies (C# or VB) and Entity Framework, Windows Forms, MVC, SOAP, WCF.
- Strategic Mindset: The ability to balance technical hands-on work with strategic planning and decision-making.
- Problem-Solving: A strong analytical mind with a proven ability to overcome complex challenges.
- Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster teamwork and build relationships.
- Quality Focus: A passion for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and DevOps tools (Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency in .NET Core and experience with .NET framework upgrades.
