ERP SAP S4HANA HR-PAYROLL Technical Business Analyst

THE ROLE

Join a major transformation program as an ERP SAP S/4HANA Payroll Business Analyst. You will play a pivotal role in the modernisation of payroll systems for one of Australia's largest local government organisations. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a large-scale ERP rollout, supporting the design, build, and deployment of SAP solutions, and driving meaningful change in a complex environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define payroll system requirements.
  • Analyse and document payroll business processes, identifying automation and efficiency opportunities.
  • Support payroll system enhancements, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations.
  • Work with technical teams on data migration, integration, and validation.
  • Review and validate functional designs and configuration.
  • Assist with testing, UAT, and implementation support, including issue resolution.
  • Provide end-user training and develop supporting documentation.
  • Act as a bridge between HR, finance, and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Support post-go-live stabilisation efforts, including parallel runs and reconciliations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a payroll-focused Business Analyst in SAP functional consulting or SAP solution support.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, outsourcing, and system integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP HCM submodules such as Payroll, Time Management, Personnel Administration, and Organisational Management.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into functional requirements and user stories.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology.
  • Business analysis certifications (CBAP, CCBA) are advantageous.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in large, multi-release ERP programs.
  • Exposure to public sector (Federal, State, or Local Government) programs.
  • HR/Payroll operational or application support background.
