Infrastructure/ Technology Architect
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Duration: 7 month contract until 30th of June 2025 with potential for extension
Security Clearance: Must hold a baseline clearance
About the Role:
A prominent Federal Government Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technology Architect to join its Architecture, Design, and Security Branch.
In this key role, you will help shape the department's strategic technology direction, ensuring alignment between technology solutions and business objectives.
As a Technology Architect, you will provide governance and design services, advising on infrastructure and technology solutions. Working closely with stakeholders, including Technology Operations, Security, and Application Architects, you will lead the design and execution of infrastructure solutions across various initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and lead the development of technology architecture in collaboration with team members, including business analysts, testers, developers, and more.
- Ensure architectural designs meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Manage technical and solution risks, addressing and mitigating them at the earliest opportunity.
- Provide guidance to technical teams, ensuring alignment with target architecture, standards, and patterns.
- Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert, ensuring that solutions meet business and technical requirements.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including executives, business representatives, and project managers.
- Assess solution options and provide strategic advice to senior executives, considering risks, advantages, and alignment with the desired future state.
Must have:
- Extensive experience architecting infrastructure solutions across technology domains such as data centres, networking systems (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN), surveillance and communication systems, and storage systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SDLC, architecture frameworks, and corporate technology.
- Strong ability to create ICT architecture designs, roadmaps, and solution blueprints.
- Proven experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, including development and security teams, to ensure seamless infrastructure integration.
- Excellent relationship-building skills across ICT and business stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of surveillance and communication systems.
