Job description

Our client is a large government department and they are currently looking for an IT Release and Environments Manager to join them on a contract through to June 2025 + possible extensions on offer.

The Role:

As the IT Release and Environments Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the security, integration, stability and availability of all IT environments, and will play a pivotal role in successful and timely program delivery. Your primary focus will be on managing these environments, release cycles, and on-time projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless environment management.
  • Lead the release management process, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and secure deployments.
  • Develop and implement release strategies that align with IT best practices.
  • Lead the resolution of environment-related issues and provide technical support.
  • Monitor environment performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and scalability.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for environment configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure all environments comply with security policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Build and nurture strong relationships to facilitate effective communication and stakeholder involvement.
  • Contribute to initiatives that positively impact stakeholders within the VET domain.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience as an IT Release and Environments Manager, including a proven track record of configuring and maintaining complex environments.
  • Strategic Alignment: Experience aligning technical delivery efforts with strategic objectives, ensuring that solutions support the overarching goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, departments, and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Process Improvement: Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing process improvements, streamlining workflows, and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience engaging with stakeholders at various levels, managing expectations, and maintaining strong relationships to facilitate communication.
  • Decision Support: Track record of contributing to informed decision-making through clear and insightful analysis.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Proficiency in documenting analysis findings, requirements, and presenting them to stakeholders in clear and concise formats.
