Job description

Our client, in the public sector, is seeking 2 Network & Infrastructure Rail Systems Engineers to join a high-performing team delivering essential upgrades and enhancements to public rail systems.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle - from design and commissioning through to maintenance support - all within a safety-focused and collaborative project environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Participate in the design, installation, commissioning, and entry into service of communications and control systems.
  • Conduct system testing as a Test Engineer or Witnessing Engineer for contractor commissioning activities.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are well defined and delivered.
  • Support the production and review of technical drawings, including SIMs, and project documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing technical proposals to ensure alignment with safety, cost, and operational standards.
  • Provide technical support for ongoing maintenance and investigation of issues across the network.
  • Assist in developing standards, work instructions, and technical training manuals to support long-term reliability.
  • Carry out project management functions including documentation, tender preparation, inspections, and reporting.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, construction, commissioning, or maintenance of communications or control systems.
  • Experience in project or contract management is highly desirable.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a current National Police Clearance (issued within the past 3 months).
  • Willingness to obtain or hold:
    • Individual Access (IA) Track Access Permit
    • OHS Training
    • Basic Workplace First Aid (Level 2)
