Job description

The Business Analysts within the Business Analysis Service - Office of the Chief Information Office (OCIO), will actively undertake business analysis activities to provide information, advice and support to external and internal clients in accordance with Queensland Health systems, policies and relevant legislation. Additionally, they will be providing specialised business analysis services and contributing to the delivery of key priority initiatives, helping advance the Digital Health agenda for one of Australia's leading Digital Health Service.

Your key responsibilities:

  • This position reports to the Manager, Business Analysis Services, OCIO, however will also work under the guidance of other management within the Digital Architecture and Delivery Office (e.g., Project Manager).
  • This position should adhere to a defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Develop a Preliminary Business Case (P50) and provide contribution to Project Brief inclusive of a next stage plan, resource profiling and budget estimates.
  • Develop and document High-level Business Requirements Specification (BRS) inclusive of Options Analysis
  • Collaborate with Project Manager and internal/external stakeholders to complete a Privacy Impact Assessment Threshold
  • Analysis/design of existing business processes, and future business processes, within the context of the information system solution.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal and external customers and other work teams to promote multidisciplinary collaboration and drive the delivery of quality and connected investment governance, appraisal and advisory services.
  • Ensure consultation with relevant stakeholders including staff (clinical, non-clinical and technical) and other external departments/agencies
  • Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Mandatory qualifications, professional registration and other requirements:

  • Digital Health and Informatics values the potential enhanced work performance deriving from formal tertiary study, but also acknowledges that enhanced work performance can result from other learning experiences which include on-the-job training, structured professional development or life experiences.
  • ieMR experience will be highly regarded for this position
  • Possession of formal tertiary qualifications is not a requirement for this position. Healthcare experience or industry relevant training and qualifications will also be held in high regard (e.g., Six Sigma, UML, BPMN)
  • Business Analysis/Project Management accreditations are highly regarded (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, PRINCE2).
  • Familiarity with BABOK guide is a requirement for this position.
  • The incumbent of the position may be required or requested to work from any of the facilities at various times.
