Paxus is partnering with a large state government department who are currently undertaking a significant transformation initiative. As part of this initiative, an opportunity for a Junior Procurement Officer to join their Brisbane CBD team has become available.
Role/Responsibilities
As the Procurement Officer, you will work closely with the Procurement Manager and Senior Procurement Advisor for a range of project activities. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Undertake responsibility for procurements and variations relating to engagement of contractors and low risk goods and services
- Engage with stakeholders to develop and refine requirements for procurement
- Provide advice and direction in relation to "low risk" procurement to ensure compliance and efficient engagement
- Develop procurement documentation including financial approval, invitation, evaluation, SOA engagement and purchase order request documents
- Manage the approval processes for release of invitations to market and engagement of successful vendors
Skills/Experience
This role is targeted at an entry level procurement advisor looking to develop their experience and skills. While procurement experience is desirable, it is not mandatory. More important are:
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in documentation including in the calculation of values and comparison between disparate systems such as a purchase order and invoice management solution
- Demonstrated experience in compliance with policies and procedures, including conferring with supervisors and management to confirm appropriate actions
