Job description

Our client, a prominent public sector organisation, is seeking an experienced Procurement & Contract Professional to join their dynamic team for an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension or permanency.

You will play a key role in delivering procurement outcomes for scientific and operational initiatives, working closely with stakeholders across geological services, finance, and project delivery. While private sector experience is welcome, candidates with government procurement knowledge or familiarity with public sector processes will be highly regarded.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead end-to-end procurement of goods and services, including equipment purchases.
  • Prepare procurement strategies, manage case planning and budgeting, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop and coordinate tender documents, RFQs, and purchase orders in line with AS4000 and internal procedures.
  • Monitor procurement schedules and ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and support contract administration, including variations, claims, and progress payments.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end procurement processes.
  • Comfortable working with diverse and complex stakeholders across departments.
  • Skilled in planning procurement for high-value, long-term projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational abilities.
  • Familiarity with AS4000 contract conditions is a plus-training can be provided if needed.
