The Cloud Transformation Project is a key project under Digital Enablement supporting eHealth Queensland in iteratively establishing and delivering the necessary infrastructure, architecture, and security for the establishment of a stable and secure cloud platform (landing zones) for our customers to consume. It will be the platform for Digital Enablement solutions of the future.

The role

eHealth Queensland is seeking an experienced Cloud Transformation Project Director to lead the Technical Delivery, Service Integration, Architecture, Change and Adoption and Financial Operational Stream towards achieving project success. The role entails driving development of critical capability aimed at establishing and delivering a new Cloud Platform in collaboration with key stakeholders. The project addresses the increasing demand for cloud capability within Queensland Health and aims to provide optimised and scalable cloud services to enhance customer outcomes.

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in implementing cloud solutions in large, complex organisations, including government structures, and must demonstrate proficiency in vendor management and financial oversight.

They will lead multiple streams, including Technical, Financial Operations, Change and Adoption, and Service Design, with a focus on fostering transparency, empowerment, and quality delivery. Strong leadership qualities, adeptness in project management methodologies such as Prince 2 and Agile, and the ability to cultivate a supportive team environment are essential for this role.

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • High level leadership, conceptualisation and design of large scale, complex and high-risk projects (SFIA code: PROF 5) (SFIA code: PRMG 6)
  • High level project management skills, with the ability to achieve successful project outcomes (SFIA code: METL 5)
  • High level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and written and oral communication skills for use in a complex project environment (NHS: Effective and Strategic Influencing)
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor multiple multi-disciplinary project teams (NHS: Leading Change Through People)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (SFIA code: RLMT 5)
  • High level knowledge and application of project management methodologies (Prince 2) (SFIA code: METL 5)
