Job description

Our client is a large, Queensland Government department who have recently been involved in an announcement of funding for a new plan by the Premier. This has resulted in the beginning of a large Program of Work.

To support this new plan, Corporate Services will lead a Service Modernisation Program, from within Information and Digital Services. The Service Modernisation Program (SMP) will deliver a comprehensive program of work which will:

  • improve the way vulnerable Queenslanders interact with our frontline services;
  • provide a single source of truth for data and;
  • provide us with the agility to respond to the changing needs of Queenslanders through reducing the complexity of our ICT ecosystem.

The Project Manager will report directly to the Program Director - Delivery, and will be responsible for the delivery of Service Transformation project objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in one of digital transformation of services.
  • Lead and manage digital solutions and projects, in order to achieve agreed objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Oversee the preparation of relevant project documentation to a high standard, to ensure appropriate communication of project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Establish agreed plans and schedules for internal and external project activities, to facilitate successful project delivery.
  • Monitor, manage and control project activities in accordance with agreed plans, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken to deliver the project on time and to budget.
  • Establish and support project governance arrangements, to ensure decisions are made at an appropriate level.
  • Establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including consultants and contractors, to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and deliver a range of communications to stakeholders, team members and stakeholders, to ensure that others are fully briefed on project objectives, tasks and progress.
  • Drive internal and external change projects, to improve government service delivery to the public.
  • Prepare project financial plans and forecast budget estimates on the business, and manage the revenue and costs as outlined in the budget.
