Job description

The Senior Integration Engineer plays a key role to ensuring that any device, application and/or change delivers an outstanding customer experience. You define and drive the build and management of the integrated testing environment to enable integration and acceptance testing to be carried out by vendors who deliver capabilities into the Defence networks.

Day to day:

The Senior Integration Engineer uses their broad engineering experience to define and document the testing environment required to test and deliver network, unified communications, and management systems capabilities to Defence. You will interact with multiple Subject Matter Experts and Engineers to design, build and prepare the environment for integration and e2e testing, maintaining it through the testing cycle and assisting in the investigation and resolution of any discovered defects.

  • Actively contributing to the design, development and maintenance of Test and Production environments;

  • Closely co-ordinating with other Design and Test Engineers

  • Interfacing with relevant design, integration, test, and support engineers to fully integrate Engineering and Test activities within the assigned program; and executing assigned Integration and Test Program activities.

To be successful in the role:

Candidates must have baselince clearance or current NV1 clearance minimum to be considered. This role will require you to upgrade to and maintain an Australian Government NV2 security clearance.

  • Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne based position to support customer-facing and lab location requirements.

  • Experience as Test or Integration Engineer with problem solving skills.

  • Experience in building or maintaining Networks, Unified Communications or Management ICT systems in complex integrated environment.

  • Experience in reviewing requirements, designs and testing documents to understand test environment needs.

  • Ability to lead and direct multiple engineers in diverse technologies and capabilities.

  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving integration and operational issues to resolution in a complex environment.

  • Experience in Defence engineering programs, in particular performing related activities in an Integration Testing program.

  • Experience in preparing and delivering reports and documentation arising from test and integration activities to internal and external customers.

  • Technology related certification (Juniper, Cisco, etc) will be highly regarded.

  • Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps and Automation is an advantage.

  • Knowledge and experience with overall DTCN solution and implementation is an advantage.

  • Knowledge and experience with Melbourne Integration Lab or Defence Canberra Integration Lab is an advantage.

Practical experience in:

  • Building, documenting, and maintaining test environments; and

  • Recording defects and assisting in defect resolution activities.
