Solution Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Solution Architect to create cloud-native solutions and deliver new and improved business capabilities. You'll be engaged in the early stages of major initiatives and projects, collaborating with global product and engineering teams to tackle complex business challenges. In this role, you will participate in the initial phases of proof-of-concepts, ensuring that technical solutions are thoroughly explored. Our ideal candidate will have a wide range of technological expertise and demonstrated experience in designing cloud-native architectures, preferably on AWS.

Responsibilities:

• Develop technical designs that address our complex business needs while aligning with our strategy, architecture, and product roadmaps.
• Evaluate business requirements and devise solutions tailored to our customers' needs.
• Design cloud-native architectures prioritizing simplicity and reusability.
• Create major software components, systems, and features, including thorough analysis, research, design, and documentation to meet business goals.
• Document and present solutions with sufficient detail to estimate the effort required for implementation.
• Present solutions to our global architecture review board, covering security, data, infrastructure, and application architectures.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and Engineers to finalize architectural solutions and establish standards.
• Design and develop cloud-native solutions, including hands-on proof of concepts.
• Research emerging technologies and trends to contribute to our tech radar and solutions.
• Assist teams in understanding system dependencies impacted by the solution, ensuring effective planning.
• Help teams identify risks and issues related to the solution and its dependencies on other initiatives.
• Support engineering teams in diagnosing and resolving architectural and technical issues throughout the project in a consultative role.
• Partner closely with product teams to ensure our architecture roadmaps are integrated into the product lifecycle incrementally and progressively.

Essential Criteria:

• 5+ years of experience as a software architect, or solution architect.
• 10+ years in software engineering, with significant experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to build, design, and deliver comprehensive solution architectures.
• Extensive expertise in developing, designing, and deploying cloud-native applications that are globally scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performing.
• Demonstrated ability to address complex technical and business challenges and effectively communicate conceptual information to all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
• In-depth experience in solution architecture.
• Strong understanding of architectural styles, including Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Microservices-based Architectures.
• Passionate about driving technical outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with PCI DSS or GDPR compliance is nice to have.
• AWS certifications, such as Solutions Architect is nice to have.
• Familiarity with technologies like Kubernetes and AWS services such as Lambda is nice to have.
• Experience with observability tools, including logging tools such as Splunk and monitoring tools such as New Relic is nice to have.
