Job description

Working on a major business transformation program, you could be based anywhere in Australia providing your expertise in data & analytics.

This is a 12 month contract for a well known Australia company who are looking to uplift their data platform capabilities to Azure.

Typically your role will involve:

  • Work with technical teams that administer the legacy data platform to elicit and compile use cases and requirements to be deployed on the new data platform.
  • Work with other transformation project teams to compile project requirements and dependencies on the new data platform; and to communicate these requirements to solution architects and the broader project team.
  • Determine required governance processes for the new platform; for example to enable a Data Scientist to run analytic workloads in Azure in a costed and approved manner.
  • Define and manage the execution of the end-to-end testing (Unit, SIT and UAT).

To be considered for this role you will need to have a mix of the following skills & experience:

  • Extensive experience in a similar data technical role.
  • Sound knowledge of, and experience in, the software development lifecycle including testing principles and processes for data and analytics solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience with Data Vault 2.0 methodology.
  • Knowledge and experience with Star Schema definition.
  • Exposure working in a Microsoft Azure Data Platform environment, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems analysis in a large enterprise.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating requirements into technical designs.
  • Demonstrated experience in compliance with architectural guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience in learning business processes and business systems to a detailed level in short timeframes
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting requirements-gathering workshops
  • Experience in development, documentation and handover of new operational processes
