Helpdesk Support Officer - Level 1
Contract Role | Brisbane CBD | On-site Start Required

We're currently seeking a motivated Level 1 Helpdesk Support Officer to join a large-scale ICT team supporting staff across Queensland. This role acts as the first point of contact for technical issues and service requests across a range of systems, software, and hardware platforms used within education and corporate environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 1 technical support by receiving, logging, and resolving service requests in line with standard procedures
  • Respond to basic support queries and escalate more complex issues as needed
  • Perform initial problem analysis and educate users where appropriate to reduce repeat calls
  • Contribute to the team's knowledge base by documenting known issues and solutions
  • Keep users informed on progress and follow up where needed
  • Maintain accurate records of all requests and interactions using internal systems
  • Support the rollout and success of IT Service Centre projects
  • Manage your own workload to deliver timely and quality service
  • Collaborate within a team environment and contribute to process improvement

What We're Looking For:

  • Sound general IT knowledge including experience with Microsoft Office, Active Directory, and basic hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced team
  • Analytical skills to diagnose and resolve basic IT issues effectively
  • Good written and verbal communication with a professional and approachable manner

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous helpdesk or service desk experience
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL-based support environments

Other Details:

  • Must be available to work full-time business hours, Monday to Friday
