Risk and Assurance Officer - Major Projects
We are seeking an experienced Risk and Assurance Officer to support the delivery of large-scale capital projects. This role focuses on implementing risk management systems, supporting compliance with enterprise-wide risk frameworks, and driving assurance activities across key programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain, and implement project risk management strategies and registers
- Provide risk advisory services to project managers and leadership teams
- Coordinate assurance plans and reviews (including internal/external audits and PACQ reviews)
- Lead risk reporting and support quantitative risk assessments (QRA)
- Build stakeholder engagement and uplift risk maturity across project teams
- Support procurement and commercial risk assessments alongside the contracts team
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Economics, Construction, Accounting, or similar
- Strong experience in project or program environments, ideally in infrastructure or capital works
- Demonstrated capability in risk systems, risk registers, QRA, and assurance reporting
- Experience building risk culture and providing training or coaching on risk practices
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
