About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee planning and coordination of high-impact engineering infrastructure projects before they are transitioned to the Delivery teams.
This is a critical role ensuring that concept designs, cost estimates, procurement strategies, stakeholder alignment, and risk frameworks are effectively defined and managed and meeting engineering standards and guidelines, to enable successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning phases for large-scale, strategic infrastructure projects
- Oversee cost estimation, risk assessment, design coordination, procurement strategy, and DA approvals.
- Engage and manage Design Partners and ensure interface alignment with third-party works.
- Build and lead high-performing cross-functional project teams.
- Champion continuous improvement, safety-in-design principles, and sustainability standards.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans that ensure benefit realisation.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders including local government and engineering partners.
- Ensure governance, compliance, and reporting meet legislative and organisational requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Proven experience managing complex capital engineering infrastructure programs from concept to handover.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams and stakeholders in dynamic planning environments.
- Strong financial, scheduling, and risk management capabilities.
- Experience in design and development planning, particularly within water or public infrastructure sectors.
- A strategic mindset with a focus on customer and community outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent significant experience) Demonstrated experience in Program Planning and Management
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience in public sector environments or utilities/ mining desirable
