Lead Penetration Tester

  • Starting from July 2025
  • 12 months with 2 x 12months extension
  • Canberra, ACT - Hybrid work arrangement

About the role

The Senior Tester plays a key role in ensuring software quality by leading the design and execution of system testing to validate performance, functionality, and user experience.

You will have extensive experience in Testing software or Systems, Writing test plans and Cases, Executing tests, Reporting issues, Validating fixes and Ensuring quality assurance. You will have a proven track record of effectively managing and delivering system testing outcomes to ensure outcomes for diverse stakeholders within technical and cross-functional environments.

In applying your expertise, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and documenting test strategies and plans to ensure the quality and functionality of IT systems, with a particular focus on both legacy platforms and emerging modernised solutions.

Key duties and responsibilities

The Senior Tester will work to the Project Manager or appointed representative. The primary duties will be inclusive of designing and running tests on software usability. The Senior Tester will conduct tests, analyse the results, and report observations to the delivery team and will include the following duties but not limited to:

  • Test enterprise-grade software applications built using .Net, Dynamic CRM, React, Java and Oracle technologies;
  • Create and/or contribute to automated test suites using Playwright automation (or equivalent);
  • Strong experience working in an agile environment and contributing effectively to the agile principles with extensive knowledge of SDLC processes;
  • Extensive experience in preparing test plans, writing and executing test cases, creating test data and test reports ln Azure DevOps;
  • Experience in defect management and extensive knowledge of defect life cycle
  • and any other duty deemed applicable to this ICT role in either a "business as usual" operation and/or project
  • Design and implement advanced automation scripts for comprehensive regression testing, with proficiency in TOSCA as the preferred tool
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with development, business analysis, project management, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality software products
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required for this ICT role in both "business as usual" operations and/or project settings, including but not limited to, strategic planning, stakeholder management, and process optimisation.

Eligibility requirements

Due to the nature of the role Australian citizenship with NV1 security clearance is mandatory for the role.
