Senior Business Analyst
- 12 months + 2X 12 months extensions

About the role
You will have extensive experience in business analysis, including the ability to elicit, document, and validate business requirements and translate them into functional specifications. You will have a proven track record of applying expertise to guide project teams, influence stakeholders and decision makers, and ensure high quality, fit for purpose solutions are implemented.
The successful candidate will work with business subject matter experts (SMEs) to elicit business requirements for several initiatives underway within the department.
Skills and experience
- A minimum of 7+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, throughout the full lifecycle of a project from initiation through to sustainment.
- Have experience working with both Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches.
- Have experience working in software development teams and a working knowledge of System Development Lifecycles (SDLC).
- Possess strong stakeholder management, time management, active listening and interpersonal skills.
- Possess excellent communication, workshop facilitation and writing skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Experience in transformational projects at the enterprise level would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Lead a range of business and technical stakeholder engagements to collect, analyse and define business requirements across the departments using a range of Business Analysis techniques.
- Be heavily involved in providing evidence and facts to assist future state decision making.
- Define user stories, acceptance criteria and create wireframes where necessary.
- Drive backlog management to maintain a steady stream of valuable and prioritised development work.
- Contribute to current state artefacts, produce future state artefacts for new business processes, whilst collaboratively contributing to options for implementation.
- Collaborate with other sections across the Information Services Division to support the design and development of solutions to meet the requirements
- Work with the delivery team to inform development and testing effort.
- Undertake other related activities to support successful delivery as required.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure consistent outputs and maintain continuity of business analysis services across the organisation.
Australian citizen with NV1 security clearance is mandatory.
