A leading Australian financial institution is seeking multiple Senior Software Engineers to join a major digital transformation program. You'll join a team focused on building a modern identity platform, delivering reusable, scalable infrastructure including SDKs and APIs that reinforce secure and seamless digital experiences across the organisation's digital channels.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing and building APIs and frontend components to integrate identity services across internal platforms
- Contributing to a backend-for-frontend architecture and platform engineering approach
- Supporting the migration of legacy .NET-based systems to a modern Node.js/TypeScript stack
- Leading technical design discussions and mentoring junior engineers
- Owning the full software development lifecycle - from shaping user stories to testing, deployment and optimisation
- Working autonomously in a team without dedicated BAs or QAs - taking initiative in defining requirements and validating work
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in backend development with C# (.NET Core) and/or Node.js (TypeScript)
- Experience with React, Next.js or similar frameworks (for full-stack/frontend-focused candidates)
- Strong understanding of scalable API design for mobile and web
- Hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, automated testing and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Comfortable working in agile, autonomous squads with a high degree of ownership
Desirable Skills
- AWS certification (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate)
- Previous experience in identity, authentication, or platform engineering
- Knowledge of scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Go)
- Experience in large-scale digital platforms or fintech/product-led environments
- Ability to navigate enterprise environments with complex governance
